Public bug reported: vlc bionic-updates 3.0.2-0ubuntu0.1 amd64 4.15.0-22-generic #24-Ubuntu
To reproduce: 1. Install vlc with DVD playback support (libdvd-pkg) 2. Install another DVD player application, e.g. Kodi 3. With DVD playback working, sudo apt autoremove vlc Actual: apt autoremove vlc removes libdvdread4 package, breaking DVD playback in other media applications. Reinstalling libdvdread4 and rebooting restored playback in kodi. Expected: Keeps libdvdread4 installed so DVD playback can still function in other applications. ** Affects: vlc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1776326 Title: Uninstalling VLC removes libdvdread4 which breaks other DVD playback To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlc/+bug/1776326/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
