Here are a few thoughts: I've tested other Debian-based distributions whose display managers are Gnome or XFCE, running the 4.15 kernel, and the same problem persists. Perhaps we should look wider than just solutions for Ubuntu. For example, Fedora seems to have the same problem, as does Arch Linux ( https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/57511 and https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1551262 , respectively). I just notice that almost all links above are directly related to Ubuntu, and that could be limiting.
Has anyone looked into the solutions for Spectre and Meltdown? Perhaps the latest solutions have caused problems with the Intel hardware. ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #1551262 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1551262 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1774950 Title: Suspend fails in Ubuntu and Kubuntu 18.04 but works fine in Ubuntu and Kubuntu 17.10 (and on Kubuntu 18.04 using kernel 4.14.47) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1774950/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
