I have given up fighting scanning on PCs using 18.04. It is easier to reboot the PC to windows, do the scanning from windows and use Ext2 volume manager to send the files back to the drives used by Ubuntu. Devices and software (PDF Studio Pro) that worked very well under 16.04 don't work under 18.04. My main reason for going to 18.04 was to get rid of a version of evolution that had problems ans was no longer support. My consulting business runs on evolution (primarily for e-mail).
I should not have to worry if a PC has USB2 or a combination of USB2 and USB3 John -----Original Message----- From: Karolis <1779...@bugs.launchpad.net> Reply-To: Bug 1779185 <1779...@bugs.launchpad.net> To: laute...@bellsouth.net Subject: [Bug 1779185] Re: Brother MFC-9440CN will not scan with 18.04 LTS Date: Mon, 02 Jul 2018 20:12:59 -0000 Have you tried this workaround described in bughttps://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane- backends/+bug/1741977message #4?
