This also mostly applies to us:
* Bionic, installed via network installer. 
* We did not configure network explicitly, AFAICT, this means networkd is used. 
However, we run with DHCP. 
* sssd.conf uses FQDNs for the kerberos and ldap servers (I guess you meant 
that)? 
* We also provide backup servers for both.
