Re comment 23, Thank you Steve. Yes, from what you say of changes made i agree the problem this end will be solved. So i will have another go at installing 18.04 but will wait till 18.04.1 And i will have a go at UEFI boot and to enrol the broadcom-sta-dkms module that you say is possible. A new learning curve for me!
