It has not happened to me since a few month after making the bug report. In the meantime I have upgraded that laptop. I have also gotten a new laptop.
I'm now using 18.04 and I have not had this problem since upgrading to 17.04. I don't have any laptops or desktops with 16.04 to check, so I'd say we can close this one. Not sure what what status to give it.
