Public bug reported: OS:
Description: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS Release: 18.04 Package: tripwire: Installed: 2.4.3.1-2 Candidate: 2.4.3.1-2 Version table: *** 2.4.3.1-2 500 500 http://us-east-2.ec2.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Expected: Job runs from cron.daily script, root receives a single email report. Observed: Root receives normal tripwire report, as well as cron output. On 18.04 (server in my case) - the default installation of tripwire results in getting two emails every morning from the cron.daily job. The actual report from Tripwire - as well as cron output. It seems that the --quiet option for tripwire in the cron.daily script isn't enough. I added ">/dev/null 2>/dev/null" to the end of the command line in the cron.daily script and it seems to work as expected. ** Affects: tripwire (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: cron tripwire -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1785484 Title: Tripwire email report sent "twice" (cron output) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tripwire/+bug/1785484/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
