I am connected to a wifi network, and I have been for a while.
The icon shows I'm connected, which is consistent with the fact that I can 
navigate in Chrome.

However, when I click on the wifi icon, the dropdown shows up as shown
in the screenshot: under "WiFi networks", just before "Disconnect"
(which is another proof that it knows I'm connected) there should be the
name of the network I'm connected to.

This was like this for several seconds, about a minute, even after
closing and reopening the dropdown.

Then after a while it fixed itself.

There are no conceivable circumstances under which that makes sense,
even for a short period of time.
