Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Hardware: Abit iL-90V motherboard with 'on board' graphics. Intel 'Mobile' Core 2 Duo CPU T5600 2GB Corsair memory. I installed the alternative version of Ubuntu 7.10. After install, on boot up, the video went off but the system did not crash. The drum beat, associated with the login screen was evident. I changed the intel driver to vesa. Then the operating system worked OK but with reduced video performance. Strangely, an older version, Ubuntu 6.1 desktop, I THINK it was, installed and worked OK direct from install on the same machine. I can supply a copy of these files if required. I can't see a way of attaching them here. lspci.txt Xorg.0.log xorg.conf lsmod.txt ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- No video. No crash. Intel driver problem. Vesa driver works. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160326 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
