I checked (both laptops) and the bug seems to be fixed in the upstrem kernel (4.19-rc4). In the meantime I'll stick with 4.15.0-29. At the moment I edited /etc/default/grub with: GRUB_DEFAULT="1>4" to load it by default. Is it the correct way to do that? Thanks.
