Ok, I ran some tests here, and here's what I've found. For some reason, the behavior isn't quite like it was before, maybe due to some upgrades I did this morning (around 12 hours ago). In any case, here's what I did (all on Nov 6)
20:41 (8:41pm) laptop in wired connection - reboot - open Firefox (Wikipedia) to check, seems OK turn on WiFi card (Fn+F2 key on keyboard), unplug Ethernet cable icon in toolbar indicates connection, but Wikipedia doesn't respond restart Firefox, Wikipedia now responds turn off WiFi card, plug in Eth cable, click icon to change to wired connection - no response (time 20:50) turn on WiFi card, unplug Eth cable, check Wikipedia, no response, reboot 20:52 rebooting with WiFi on and Eth disconnected Wikipedia OK turn off WiFi, plug in Eth cable icon shows wired connection, Wikipedia doesn't respond at first, but then responds, loads pages, but doesn't load pics restart Firefox, Wikipedia works fully 20:57 - unplug Eth, turn on WiFi card icon shows wireless connection, Wikipedia doesn't respond at first, but then responds, loads pages, but doesn't load pics restart Firefox, Wikipedia works fully (basically same scenario as above) 20:59 - turn off WiFi card, plug in Eth cable - Wikipedia doesn't respond, icon shows no connection (two screens with small red X) 21:01 - retry cable connection, icon still shows no connection, and doesn't respond to radio button (left click, select wired connection manually) 21:02 - reboot wired (WiFi card still off), and submit report, hopefully attachment makes it ** Attachment added: "syslog" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10296901/syslog -- network manager unable to switch between wired and wireless connections https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160394 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
