Public bug reported:

During install I had some windows partitions that I selected mount points for.
After installing, I reformatted the Windows drive so those partitions weren't
mountable.
Ubuntu now fails to boot because it can't mount them. Why does it need to?

** Affects: sysvinit (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
