I notice that if I launch gnome-control-center from the command line with the "--verbose" option, when I'm on the WiFi tab it prints out all SSIDs available at extremely high speeds. It seems like maybe the periodic scan of networks is happening far too quickly. When I switch to a different tab there is a message about disabling periodic scanning, and suddenly the CPU usage drops dramatically and everything seems to work. I also notice that if I use "rfkill" to disable WiFi, and then run gnome-control-center I can't reproduce the high CPU usage.
I'm attaching a snippet of the printouts that are coming on the WiFi tab. Notice it is printing about 2000 messages per second. ** Attachment added: "ssid_print_snippet.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1767536/+attachment/5200658/+files/ssid_print_snippet.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1767536 Title: Accessing the WIFI section of the "Settings" window causes massive freezes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1767536/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
