Please try installing an older kernel like that which was in Ubuntu
18.04:

  http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.15/

Reboot, and as soon as you see the purple screen hit Esc. Then select
the older kernel you have installed.

If that fixes the problem then please repeat and try to find the kernel
version where it stopped working:

  http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=A

If that didn't work then please repeat with an even older kernel than
4.15.
