5 days ago I've installed Ubuntu 16.0.1 with kernel 4.4.0-21-generic on the second disk. No updates to kernel or libs were installed. So far no fan issue appeared. Also, 16.04 correctly goes to sleep when lid is closed which was not always the case with 18.04.
Also, probably not related, but I always see one of kworker thread consuming 100% CPU, however it doesn't seem to affect anything, including thermal regime, most of the times fans are on low RPM. Running CPU-heavy loads, like games, spins up the fans, but they always throttle down after the heavy load is over. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1775717 Title: CPU/GPU Fans suddenly go 100% RPM on Asus ROG G752VT To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1775717/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
