I get the same problem during livecd sessions. The system freeze leaving brown diagonals rows around the screen. I finally (don't ask me how) succeed in installing Ubuntu (edgy/feisty both 32 and 64 bits) but the problem present itself in a kind new way: while I'm working, suddenly the system slow down *A LOT* (I mean I almost cannot move the mouse pointer). The only way to bring it back is to kill hald and/or hald-addons-blablabla... (i have installed tilda so the operation is faster right now :P) But, of course, after that I cannot use my cdrom drive or usb keys anymore, and I have to reboot. (If I try to launch hal again the system will slow down again the 90% of the times).
I thought that was just a problem of mine, so I brought back my laptop to the assistance (they should call me these days). If it could be useful, I'll follow your instruction and post all the info I can get. Thank you in advance, and sorry for my poor english but I'm in a hurry (and I'm Italian, as well :P) byeeee -- problem durning AMD64 install on Core 2 Duo E6600 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/116112 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
