while installing the packages needed for providing a backtrace i had to enable the prereleased updates option, because i had to update adept-manager (and other parts of adept as well) to version 2.1.2ubuntu26.2 from 2.1.2ubuntu26.1 as a result of the update the bug stopped appearing.
