My system hangs every time I try to play more demanding games on it.
Especially Total War: Warhammer hangs the system after a while. I know,
that this error can be a result of faulty hardware, insufficient cooling
etc, but this is not this case in my opinion. I don't have any problem
with heavy GPU rendering in Blender for long periods of time (hours).
GPU temperature remains reasonable, even when that game crashes. And the
game works perfectly under Windows. I have tried Furmark under Linux and
more "GPU burners" under Windows without any problems.
I'am experiencing this problem for about a year, with Ubuntu 17.10
(various nvidia drivers tried) and now with nvidia 390 drivers in Ubuntu
18.04.
