Public bug reported: This package sets Firefox default start page to https://start.ubuntu- mate.org which contains Google Analytics and Cloudflare trackers.
In my opinion, a start page should not contain any remote tracker (i.e. should not load anything rom third party domains). Content of the package: https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/amd64/ubuntu-mate-default-settings/filelist Content of /usr/lib/firefox/ubuntumate.cfg: $ cat /usr/lib/firefox/ubuntumate.cfg // defaultPref("browser.startup.homepage", "https://start.ubuntu-mate.org"); What I expect: uMatrix should not show any red line when loading default start page of Ubuntu-Mate OS. ** Affects: mate-desktop Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Ubuntu-Mate-Firefox.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1802784/+attachment/5211504/+files/Ubuntu-Mate-Firefox.png ** Package changed: ubuntu-mate-settings (Ubuntu) => mate-desktop -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1802784 Title: Ubuntu Mate Firefox Start page contains trackers (googleanalytics+cloudflare) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mate-desktop/+bug/1802784/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
