So, running 16.04.1 with 4.4.0-21-generic since October, 22 - fans work just
fine and laptop is more silent in general. Today tried to install exactly the
same kernel - 4.4.0-21-generic in 18.04. Installed ok, but it freezes just
after booting, even in single-user mode, with both nvidia and nouveau drivers.
(nvidia driver installed by dkms from 4.4.0-040400-generic kernel.) I'd like to
test this configuration (18.04 + 4.4.0-21-generic), but this freeze doesn't let
me. Any suggestions how to debug this?
(Didn't try pinging the laptop from outside when it freezes yet)
