Hi, I had the issue today and thanks to @v2min I can replicate it.
The issue appeared cause I have my screen turned off when I powered on the computer. My specs: Ubuntu 18.10 AMD R9 290 with default kernel driver (amdgpu) I had to reboot cause when I logging out, the current session hang and open a new session (ctrl+alt+f2) doesn't resolve the issue.
