I appear to have the same issue as described by comment #24/#25.

The installer didn't crash on me though. I also typed in a password and
continued, but it didn't crash on me. I aborted the installation when
picking where to install to due to needing to change settings in my BIOS
for Ubuntu to be able to detect my HDD.

Currently I'm unable to even boot the bootable Ubuntu USB I made without
this happening. I can boot the USB if I disable EFI entirely and boot
using legacy. I still have Windows installed on it and this boots
normally.

I would really appreciate help resolving this asap.
