Public bug reported: When launching a program in terminal the cursor does not respond. Normaly the command gets executed but if I try to close window message states that there is a process that will be ended if I close and when I do the running program stops.
I am a novice ubuntu user who stared with geomagpy/magpy (self built not using annacongo?) Then next project was LXC/LXD/ZFS, still in works. KDEconnect, KDEindicator and GSconnect and Mconnect, Chrome-extension, Gnome shell, openssh, all due to a Unbuntu bluetooth file share incompatibilty with the package Caja V1.12.7. (Not being able trans Android files) Its been a challenge and a work in progress. Still have to figure our why Share is a menu item and yet seems I had to setup a workgroup network which using Shares-admin, still had to automaticly download some files to set up. So yes confussion as moved to far to fast. I think it all stemmed from not have the network and share configured. In the mist of it all my orginal admin log in user account devaloped desktop problems, first the mate-panel was not appearing. So I reinstalled most component packages again.Lightdm, mate-session, mate- panel, marco, mate-desktop-default settings, ect.... 15-20 other Pkgs The only way after using -reset and -reconfigure was to boot to the desktop, open terminal, run command mate-session, then mate-panel then marco -reset. This gave me a working desktop menu and windows as long as the terminal screens for each command remain open. I gave up after using all possible researched methods to restore the desktop panel and menu. I renamed .Xsession .cache .profile .bashrc .config, .ICEauthorityran DPKG -reconfigure lightdm, sudo service lightdm restart, set the PAM-envoroment, check file ownnerships. Tried other solutions I can not recall at moment. I finaly tried a guest log in that worked. So Deletd the oroginal admin/user account and set up another admin/user. I chaned the group user UID in the group user (name) and sudo and couple other groups. This was in hopes of not creating a conflict with programs like LXC?LXD that may have been created depending on the user GUID at the time. Maybe created more problems than avoided. I do have some .xsession eroors that carried over to the new user account. I am pursuing, as I decided to run ubuntu-bug -w on a open terminal window. Bellow post the .xsesion-errors. Gesh the file is now to big to be displayed. openConnection: connect: No such file or directory cannot connect to brltty at :0 mate-session[3360]: WARNING: Unable to find provider '' of required component 'dock' grep: /home/tumuck/.xinputrc: No such file or directory ** (process:3991): WARNING **: Warning: show_on_monitor_number is no longer a valid config option for the current version of Tilda. ** (process:3991): WARNING **: Warning: scroll_background is no longer a valid config option for the current version of Tilda. ** (process:3991): WARNING **: Warning: use_image is no longer a valid config option for the current version of Tilda. ** Message: Initializing gksu extension... apache2: Syntax error on line 11 of /usr/share/mate-user-share/dav_user_2.4.conf: module unixd_module is built-in and can't be loaded spawning httpd failed /usr/lib/mate-optimus/mate-optimus-applet:7: PyGIWarning: Gtk was imported without specifying a version first.
