I've no idea. I thought maybe they had :s (could have sworn one day after an upgrade I was seeing UUIDs somewhere ... maybe it was only in the menu.lst though) ... not sure about the actual release though. I do know that all installs since ?Feisty? (or maybe Edgy?) have used UUIDs instead, so at least it isn't a problem with new installs eh?
