Tested on ThinkPad X240s: ThinkPad BIOS GIET52WW (2.00 ) Lenovo ThinkPad X240s, model 3333333
Hang issue is not reproduced. Loading i2c_i801 runtime didn't cause any issue. Booting with touchpad in smbus which using i2c_i801 module, Ubuntu 18.04 works fine, touchpad works fine. Log attached.
