I went the sudo apt remove way. I'm like many Ubuntu users, creature of habits and obsessions. The $HOME is really a home for me, I like it tidy in clean. I can't stand somebody putting a shelf in the middle of my room and "deal with it" ... I love Ubuntu so please remove this shelf off my room and put it in the closet.
