Another interesting thing with the 845g chipset and Gericom Hummer 2430. If you start the laptop the first time without a battery it boots fine until X but after X start the mouse is watchable for some seconds, then disappears and the whole laptop hangs. After a hard reboot X starts fine. It seems to have something to do with direct rendering or something like that. The i810 driver is used because of this bug.
