I would add the caveat that /boot/ipxe.efi will not be bootable on 
SecureBoot-enabled systems and this is not something that will be changed.

Why can't Ubuntu sign the ipxe.efi binary during its build process, using the 
same key that it's using to sign vmlinuz? Too much hassle?
What if enough users request it, proving it's popular?
