I can confirm this with Gutsy Gnome. I tried with 4 pages per side, and I get the useless behaviour described above. The workaround is to choose 4 pages per side, all pages, print everything on the PDF printer. then go to your ~/PDF directory, open the pdf output, open it and print even pages and then reversed odd pages, with one page per side.
