Public bug reported: During 18.04.2 iso testing, I have picked up the i386 Xubuntu isos for a quick sanity-test on kvm. Even though the live-session tests have succeeded (everything seemed to work as expected), I seem to be having issues booting an installed system on kvm.
The Xubuntu system installed correctly. I have selected full-disk installation and disabled downloading updates during install. Then I have proceeded with trying to boot the installed system: kvm -cdrom ~/bionic-desktop-i386.iso -drive if=virtio,file=/home/sil2100/hdd.qcow2 -m 2048 -boot c -cpu kvm32 The boot process hangs on a black screen and blinking cursor. No splash screen was visible. Tried installing twice and the result was the same. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: 18.04.2 xubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1815887 Title: Xubuntu 18.04.2 i386 installation fails to boot on kvm (kvm3d cpu) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1815887/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
