Maybe I'm redundant but some time ago I updated on my repository the network-manager packages with the patch appeared on the NM mailing list. It works for me. You could add my repository with:
deb http://packages.aldu.net/ubuntu gutsy main restricted universe multiverse deb-src http://packages.aldu.net/ubuntu gutsy main restricted universe multiverse and then apt-get update/upgrade to get the patched NM.
