@Alf: Alrighty then, thanks for the follow-up and clarification . . . "traditionally" it seemed like packages that were available for various ubuntu flavors were often .deb files . . . . I did get to the lxqt.org downloads site earlier today and indeed the "0.14.1" packages were numerous and it didn't seem like a "one click" kind of install . . . so caution being the better part of valor, I didn't want to create a big mess out of it . . . likely I'll wait until apt can handle it, or muon/synaptic shows it as a complete DE . . . .
Thanks for the conversation on it . . .
