Yes, I am using a fixed DSDT, I'm using the one given in the link I
posted.  You'll need to copy the aml file to
/etc/initramfs-tools/DSDT.aml
and then either install the kernel or reconfigure it, one way is to
boot into the new kernel and run

sudo dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-`uname -r`

the uname-r gets the currently running kernel so you'll need to boot
into the new custom kernel before that command will work.

Once it runs it will find the DSDT.aml file and import it into the
boot image.  Reboot when it's done and you should have sound.
