Public bug reported: Looking at the upstream calamares code there doesn't seem to be any support for the arm architectures. Currently the bootloader code only deals with i386/amd64. Whilst armhf can be a bit of a mess, I believe there is now a consensus forming around grub on arm64/aarch64. It would be great if this could be added.
Similarly calamares-settings-ubuntu is not geared for the 'ports' architectures. The repo address is wrong and again the different bootloaders are not supported. Ubiquity works well with armhf/u-boot powerc/yaboot. Calamares is definitely inferior in this regard. ** Affects: calamares (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: calamares-settings-ubuntu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: calamares-settings-ubuntu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1820960 Title: No support for armhf/arm64/other ports To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1820960/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
