It is theming issue: * affected themes - Ambiant-MATE, Ambiant-MATE-Dark, Radiant-MATE; * not affected themes - BlackMATE, BlueMenta, Blue-Submarine, GreenLaguna, Green-Submarine, High Contrast, High Contrast Inverse, Menta, TraditionalGreen, TraditionalOk.
So all default `mate-themes` themes should be changed to have normal text selection rectangle.
