Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gcj-4.2

I am trying to upgrade to Ubuntu 7.10. First, during the installation
the installer complained that it cannot install gij due to broken
dependencies.

Now it says:

-------------------------------------------------------------

Setting up xemacs21-bin (21.4.20-1.1) ...

Setting up scim-modules-table (0.5.7-1ubuntu2) ...
Setting up scim-tables-additional (0.5.7-1ubuntu2) ...
Processing triggers for libc6 ...
ldconfig deferred processing now taking place
Processing triggers for initramfs-tools ...
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.22-14-386
Errors were encountered while processing:
 gij-4.2
 gij
 java-gcj-compat
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "logging/__init__.py", line 753, in emit
File "logging/__init__.py", line 731, in flush
IOError: [Errno 9] Bad file descriptor
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Worst of all, the installation stopped and I have no idea
what to do. I hope it will continue after I submit the
bug report. The installer gives no hint on whether it
will continue.
