I understand you do not want to risk damaging already working devices with a so big change on a LTS release. I use Ubuntu for my job, I need a rock solid system. Therefore I prefer to use a standard more reliable GE kernel and use an external USB mouse on my laptop. In my new Teclast laptop I installed 18.04.2, therefore it should automatically updated to the new kernel with the touchpad fix on the next point release: 18.04.3. I think that should happen on August/September. At that time I will throw away the external mouse to go back to the laptop touchpad. Thank you very much for all your efforts.
