I can confirm this behaviour on my Thinkpad T42p 2373-KYG
with Kubunutu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon.

GNU/Linux

Very annoying. Every 5th time after pulling the power cable, the system 
trys to suspend or hibernate and hangs on a black screen. To recover I had to 
press the 
power button until the system reboots.
