Public bug reported: Bob has defined the <Super>D shortcut to un/cover desktop. He is trying to use it in a similar way as he used to work on Mac OSX. Ie. he has some files (pictures, etc. ) on the desktop, while working in Open Office Writer. The Writer window covers the whole desktop, so Bob tries to: 1. show the desktop using Super D 2. drag the picture from the desktop 3. return the Writer window using Super D again while still dragging the picture 4. Drop the picture to the Writer window at desired position
Unfortunately on Ubuntu step #3 does not work. This applies both to compiz (when using Show Desktop plugin) and to metacity without desktop effects. Alice uses a similar approach, while she also have defined extra mouse button (8) for un/covering desktop. Step #3 cannot be proceeded in this case as well. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete -- Keyboard shortcuts not allowed during drag and drop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/163531 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
