Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub

I wanted to secure my grub-menu with a password. But the grub-md5-crypt tool
gives different sums each time I type in my password. If I write one of the
sums into the menu.lst grub shows an error message when I try typing in the
password at boot.
Steps to reproduce:
1. open a console and type in grub-md5-crypt
2. enter a simple phrase, e.g. "asd" as password and reenter it
3. go through steps 1 and 2 again
4. compare the outputs.
In my understanding of md5-sums, the outputs should be the same. However they
aren't on my two gutsy-based machines. So no working password-protection of the
grub-menu is possible.

Can anyone confirm this bug?
