Public bug reported:

Cause power faulty on my laptop after the boot and login all
files/folder in my desktop were substituted with root folders: bin,
boot, lib, sbin, ecc, as a desktop variable is pointing to /. In fact if
I right click on desktop for creating a folder, for example, I got an
error cause permissions.

If I open my home from System Menu on kpanel (I have Kubuntu Gutsy)
instead of opening /home/myname is opened simply /home; fortunately
inside is my home which contains all files and folders, even the real
Desktop folder with all my files.

This strange error seems the only one, since the desktop background is
right, the login works, and all applications too.

I have created a new user hoping the problem was confined only to my
account but even the new user have the same problem.

Thanks
