Public bug reported: When I try to run-geiser in Emacs 26.1 on Ubuntu 19.04 Disco Dingo, I get the following error message:
apply: Invalid function: (lambda (&rest) geiser-guile-minimum-version) This is the same as this issue from geiser's old github: https://github.com/jaor/geiser/issues/207 Note this was fixed in geiser in 2016 with the following patch: https://github.com/jaor/geiser/commit/ae895088fab7593295dc16bc7d58a67321f92d46.patch It looks like Debian has applied that patch to Sid and the geiser 0.8.1-4 package is slated to be included in Eoan Ermine. I'm opening this bug to see if we could get a back port of the patch to Disco. I've already patched the Disco source package locally and installed it, and it works. If you want me to do anything, like provide my built package or whatever, I'd be more than happy to do so. This isn't my first time patching source packages, though I don't know a whole lot about the internals of the package system. ** Affects: geiser (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: When I try to run-geiser in Emacs 26.1 on Ubuntu 19.04 Disco Dingo, I get the following error message: + apply: Invalid function: (lambda (&rest) geiser-guile-minimum-version) - This is the same as this issue from geiser's old github: https://github.com/jaor/geiser/issues/207 + This is the same as this issue from geiser's old github: + https://github.com/jaor/geiser/issues/207 Note this was fixed in geiser in 2016 with the following patch: https://github.com/jaor/geiser/commit/ae895088fab7593295dc16bc7d58a67321f92d46.patch - - It looks like Debian has applied that patch to Sid and the geiser 0.8.1-4 package is slated to be included in Eoan Ermine. + It looks like Debian has applied that patch to Sid and the geiser + 0.8.1-4 package is slated to be included in Eoan Ermine.
