Thank you for your comments and hints. I already tried to a
"sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg"
and chose the default options. This hasn't worked for me.
The live-cd failed to properly set up a X-Session, too...
I haven't tried the "on-the-edge"-drivers yet. I will come
back after checking them out.
The "/etc/X11/xorg.conf"-file is attached below, for
"/etc/X11/Xorg.0.log"-file please see the attached file above.
As said before, downgrading the driver works for me.
