I am having this black screen problem from Edgy days...i couldnt boot from LiveCD/LiveUSB but i am able to upgrade without any issues. I am using Dell Inspiron 5160 with XGI Trident Volari XP5 video card. Surprised that we still keep getting this issue with each new version!
