This is still an issue on Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS. I can reliably get it to happen. Need to run killall to get it to stop trying with large transfers. The [x] to stop file operations will not work all the time once it hangs. The terminal and windows dualboot work fine for transferring the same files.
