Public bug reported:

The kernel that comes with Kubuntu 18.04.1 is able to see the partitions
on my Macbook Air 7,1 (mid-2015, 11.6")'s NVMe SSD. However, the kernel
included in 18.04.2 cannot.

If I check dmesg for the string "nvme" I get
nvme nvme0: IO queues not created

lspci can see the drive just fine.

This seems to be an upstream issue because it also affects Debian Buster
and Arch Linux.

** Affects: linux-signed-hwe (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
