Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

network-manager-vpnc upon setting up and connecting to a profile prompts
you for a password in the following way:

You need to authenticate to access the Virtual Private Network "<name>".
Password [                    ]
Group Password [                  ]
(Actually 2 seperate passwords)

I first saw this page and entered my group password twice; mainly out of
confusion...
(i only saw the name of my vpn connection 'cri' which also happens to be my PSK
group name)

This lead me down a spiral of 'tail /var/log/syslog' (which said nothing
about a bad password for my username)...

I believe this is an easy fix;
You need to authenticate to access the Virtual Private Network "<name>".
User   Password [                  ]
Group Password [                  ]
