Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 19.04, if you "Split Vertically", it becomes impossible to highlight a text-range that starts at the first character of the right- pane because the mouse-cursor goes into resize-mode before you can reach the left side of the first character.
When I'm highlighting a small amount of text, this is not an issue, because I can simply click-drag from "right to left" (instead of "left to right"). However, on long text, where I'm scrolled up a ways, and want to highlight from "top to bottom", I cannot accomplish this without missing the first character of what I'm wanting to copy (or, I have to scroll down to the bottom of the desired-range and then highlight from "bottom to top" instead of "top to bottom". I hope I've described this clearly enough. Additionally, I should point out, that I have a 4K monitor, but I'm not sure that makes a difference in this issue.
