I have the same problem, tested with several external drives (including
Western Digital external hard drive with a Reiser FS partition, NTFS
partition, FAT32 partition and a Corsair Flash Voyager with a FAT32
partition) and occurred in Ubuntu 7.10, 7.04 and 6.10 (all versions I
ever used)

This message repeats a couple of times while copying data to or from the
external drive, once for every time the copying halts a few seconds.
