hmm i'm running gusty right now but i don't know if this has anything to do with gnome sessions or if it is caused by screen (http://www.gnu.org/software/screen/) i guess it is the later one in contrast with the topic starter. maybe it sents its grafical output to a wrong display. but this is a wild guess.
